This is a very hard to find large Chinese export porcelain charger decorated with the well-know “Cuckoo in the House”. Painted in a bright underglazed blue with two phoenixes each side of a temple or pagoda and all around decorated with flowering foliage. The rim is decorated with a double circle and continuous band of paired leaves; edge is in iron brown underglazed. The back is without decoration. This kind of Chinese porcelain was exported to Netherlands by the Dutch East Indian Company in the 17th centuries. This large charger date from ca 1700 in Kangxi period (1662-1722). It measures 31.8 cm ( 12.5 inches) in diameter and 4.3 cm (1.7 inches) high. Good condition except few fritting to the rim (down right ) and one small chip in the back side (please watch pictures),no restoration, repair and no hairline.
