TANG XUEGAO

Calligraphys  on the “The People's Daily” of the period of the Cultural revolution (1966-1976).

The artist  wanted  to make a symbol  by using  newspapers  “The People's Daily”  of  the period of  the Cultural revolution (1966-1976).It used as painting canvas with its art a daily newspaper  which  was opposed to the  intellectuals  and  to  the artists in  this time. Tang Xuegao wrote calligraphy of  poems of the dynasties Tang and Song, periods marking the apogee of Chinese art.

TANG XUEGAO BIOGRAPHY     Tang Xuegao is a native of the province of Hubei (center of China), was born in 1945 in the province from Sichuan (south-western).It is the fifth son of a family of eight children. Its passion for calligraphy starts very early. it is with its entry at the school that it learned how to handle the brushes. Since, it did not cease practising its art. The Cultural revolution began in 1966. Its ranks among the largest political movements of modern history, and its professed aim was to renovate the cultural values of the Chinese nation and the movement was directed against “intellectual” and “artist”. This is why it was resigned not to undertake the artistic studies which was due to him so much in heart. But during these ten years it continued to paint calligraphy in the shade and the anxiety. As of the end of the Cultural revolution Tang Xuegao finally been able to freely practise its art. Recognized artist from now on, it practised calligraphy more than fifty years. . He had exhibitions in Beijing, Guangzhou, Xian, Chengdu, Chongqing, Guiyang and Wuhan.
