Chinese Album of 12 Silk Paintings of scenery in Wang Hui Style.

A superb album of 12 Chinese Paintings, ink on silk. They are all entitled and signed with seals of Wang Hui or Shi Gu (sobriquet of Wang Hui). They are painted from different Chinese painters of the end of Qing dynasty, mid 19th century. Those different artists use the style of Wang Hui to depict some very nice mountains and rivers landscapes with pavilions and figures. This album was in a Japanese collection for many years. The album size is 31.3 x 24 cm (12.3 x 9.4 inches) and the paintings 26.5 x 20.8 cm (10.4 x 8.2 inches). This album has small degradation but the paintings are in very good condition, please watch pictures. Shipping extra.

This is a nice large export Chinese reverse painting on glass depicting figures at leisure upon outdoor terraces and within a fenced garden, beautiful scene painted with vibrant colours. Anonymous, end of Qing dynasty probably ca. 1840 to 1860. Framed in a moulded Chinese hardwood frame. This kind of painting is painted on the reverse side of the glass. Painting, ink on paper. Mountains and rivers landscape with pavilions. Entitled, inscribed and signed, with two seals of the artist; 1920 to1930. Li Pei, we donít know so much about him, few of his paintings has been sold in China and Hong-Kong last 10 years in auction houses; click for sample . He was active early 20th century. Mythological Taoist Gilt Painting of Deities.

Scroll, ink and gilt on paper. Anonymous, probably end of 19th to early 20th century. In the center it should be Yu Huang the Jade Emperor, he was originally the crown prince of the kingdom of Pure Felicity and Majestic Heavenly Lights and Ornaments. Down left is Zhong Kui who is very commonly popular Deity believed to drive away ghosts and evil fortunes while bringing good luck and success and was originally the door God. Down right is Tian Guan ruler of heaven and grants happiness. Up left isWang Ling Guan, he represent a heavenly protector in the Taoist pantheon of deities to guard against evil. His three eyes light up the world, he carries his gold bian (an ancient weapon). Size: 45cm (17.7 inches)high by 35cm (13.8inches)wide. Good condition. Shipping extra.

Wang Shugu (1649-1733), scenery.

Hanging scroll, ink on paper. Wang Shugu (1649-1733), he was painter from Hangzhou in Zhejiang province, his style name was Wang Lugong and by sobriquet Lugong, Wuwo, Ci Zhufu, Ci Zhujun, Wangwai, Fangwai Buyi, Wenwai Buyi, Yixiao Xiansheng. He excelled in calligraphy and portrait. This painting shows an old man seating along the river. Dated and signed: Yong Zheng wu nian xia ri; Lu Gong. This poem is written on a day of summer time in the fifth year of Yong Zheng period, the year 1727 and signed Lugong with three seals of the artist. The calligraphy is a description of the painting. . Size of painting and calligraphy: 20cm (7.9 inches) high by 16cm (6.3 inches) wide. Good condition. Shipping extra.

Gai Qi (1774-1829), Ladies under a tree.

Hanging scroll, ink on paper. Gai Qi (1774-1829), he was poet and painter born in the west of china and lived in Songjiang and belong to the Hui nationality, his style name was Boyun and by sobriquet Xiangbai, Qixiang, Yuru Waishe, Yuru Shanren. He excelled in human beauty and figures, flowers and landscapes. This painting show two young ladies under a tree. One is hanging a flowering branch on her right hand and the youngest lady with a blue vase on her hands. Entitled and signed: Yu Ru Wai She Gai Qi. Three seals of the artist: Chen Qi Si Yin; Na Jia Ding; Qi Xiang Si Shu. This painting could be around 1821. Size: 107cm (42.1 inches)high by 62cm (24.4inches)wide.
