Rare Famille Rose Porcelain Brush Holder, Early Qianlong Period (1736-1795).

This is a nice Chinese Famille Rose porcelain brush holder decorated with peonies, chrysanthemums, birds and butterflies. The base is unglazed in the centre with painted mark. This wonderful brush pot was made during the Yongzheng period to the early Qianlong period. It measures 12 cm (4.7 inches) tall and 9.8 cm (3.85 inches) in diameter. This brush has two hairlines, but the condition is still good (please watch carefully the pictures). Shipping extra.

Large Chinese Carved Bamboo Tea Caddy, mid 19th century.

This is a nice large Chinese carved bamboo tea caddy It is carved in high relief with four cartouches depicting two scenes from Chinese novel and the two others with phoenixes. The lid is also carved with figures and trees. This tea caddy from mid 19th century. It measures 16.3 cm (6.4 inches) tall and 12.8 cm (5 inches). Still in good condition for bamboo art of work, there is some cracks and the lid was repaired long time ago, (please watch carefully the pictures). Shipping extra.

This is a small nice Copper Red seal box, mid to late 19th century. It depicts on the cover the character Shou, the symbol of longevity with five bats (prosperity and good fortune) and above peaches (longevity) and the characters Shou in an other script. It measures 8 cm (3.2 inches) in diameter and 5 cm (1.5 inches) tall. Good condition, no restoration or repair. Shipping extra.

This is a small nice famille rose porcelain seal box, Guangxu period (1875-1908). It depicts two young boys riding on a Qiling or Kiren, a legendary animal, usually related with young male. There are small floral designs on the rim. It measures 8.2 cm (3.2 inches) in diameter and 3.8 cm (1.5 inches) tall. Good condition, no restoration or repair. Shipping extra.

Late 19th Familly Rose Brush Holder.

This late 19th century (1862-74) small Famille Rose Porcelain brush holder is 11.4 cm (4.5 inches) tall and 7.8 cm (3 inches) in diameter. It depicts a young girl under a tree. The workmanship is simple and elegant. There is a six characters/double frames mark on the bottom which reads “Daqing Tongzhi Nianzhi.” It is in excellent condition.

Longevity Bamboo Brush Holder.

This late 19th century Chinese bamboo brush holder (Bitong) is 15 cm (5.9 inches) tall and 10 cm (3.9) inches at its widest part. The front part of the cylinder presents an old man and a kid who carry a peach (symbol of longevity) over a bridge. Nice details like two fine carved ducks. Very good condition.

Carved Bamboo Brush Holder.

This late 19th century Chinese bamboo brush holder (Bitong) is 16.3 cm (6.4 inches) tall and 8.4 cm (3.6) inches at its widest part. It was carved in high relief. The front part of the cylinder presents the story of immortals of the bamboo grove. Four immortals are looking at a scroll picture surrounded by pine trees. Good condition apart from a long, narrow crack to the reverse and few small which is tight and fairly shallow. Such flaws are very common on pieces like this (and are often much worse) due to age and variations in storage temperature.
